I hope someone sees the humor in this =)

BMXnet in Germany, Day 2
The second day of BMXnet was a little more hectic for myself because I wound up giving a talk that I was completely unprepared for. You can check out the talk on Using the Internet for Your Business here. Most of my day was spent putting together a presentation and preparation. This meant I only really got to see the last couple talks and all the performances at the end. The only other talk that I caught was Cookie Haworth's on implants. It was a good refresher course on the do's and don'ts from the consumer side of the scalpel. Some seriously messed up implant work was shown too. So gross.

For the performances, the only one that I know the name of was Hillary's performance group, Operafication. They combined suspension and opera into an amazing performance. She has such a beautiful voice, and when you couple that with the stress of being on hooks, and blood dripping down your face, it's something to leave you in awe over.

This was the first performance on the second night of BMXnet 2009.
The second performance was done by three guys that gave a very ritualistic body modification performance that covered a lot of the main areas in body modification. The fact that they had some serious black work tattoos really added to the show as well. They started out with play piercing needles being removed from their arms and then being put into their foreheads. From there the two guys on the end skewered their mouths, and then turned on the guy in the middle. He seemed to be the rag doll for the rest of the performance. They pierced him, then skewered him, then cut into his lower abdomen. Then they brought out the blow torch. A little bit of branding and then they moved on to throwing the hooks into his back. From this point, I was wondering what they were going to do with the hooks. I didn't see any rigging anywhere. Then the two guys on the end picked up a pole off the ground with connections on it. An assistant ran out, hooked the middle guy up to the pole and then they lifted him off the ground. That was shocking. These guys didn't hesitate even the slightest the entire time.
