There has been talk and general support of a BodyMod.org chatroom. There has been one in the past, but due to going unused it was removed. To test if one would be used, a BodyMod.org IRC chatroom has been put up by Kcir and I. While there may be flaws in IRC this will at least test if the greater number of BodyMod.org users would change the usage of a chatroom. To connect to the IRC service, mIRC is a good program (if you use windows). It will say it''s a 30 day trial, but it will continue working after the trial is expired (it will just occasionally ask for monetary support and paying is up to you). Here''s the donload link for those who are interested: http://www.download.com/mIRC/3000-2150_4-10001733.html?part=dl-mIRC&subj=uo&tag=button&cdlPid=10897267 After installing mIRC (for those who are unfamiliar with IRC) you will be asked to create a name. After that, click connect and a window you can type in will come up. To join the BodyMod.org channel, one would type "/server irc.dal.net" and after connecting type "/join #bodymod.org bmod". Alternately, going to the tabs and command/join and entering the information will work also. So, Server: irc.dal.net Channel: #bodymod.org bmod We hope to see others use it! IRC stands for internet relay chat. There are numerous servers and rooms online and you can connect to them through websites or programs (such as mIRC). IRC is one of the oldest forms of internet chatting (created in 1988) but is still used and very functional.
You use command codes to navigate through the servers and channels.
For example, in mIRC, once it comes up you pick a username. After that it connects and brings up a window. Type "/server <servername>" to join a server and then "/join #<channelname>" for the channel, or room. So, to join the bodymod.org channel, one would type "/server irc.dal.net" and after connecting type "/join #bodymod.org bmod".
Wha-la, connected.
So far only three people have used it, but I'm guessing it'll take a while for some peple to find out about it and get there...
