*steps up to the plate*
Ahem...
This is one of the best films i have seen in a long, long time. It was so fantastic...everything about it. Mickey Rourke was (as usual) unbelievable...such emotion and effort and passion put into this role and, even though i thought Sean Penn was great in Milk, I felt that Mickey Rourke deserved the oscar for Best Actor. Marisa Tomei was also superb, although, unfortunatly, she is outclassed by Rourke.
And the Icing on the cake...the song by Bruce Springsteen during the end credits is so heartfelt and so suiting to the movie. It is almost as though the song (and, to be quite honest, the entire plot and theme of the movie) was taken from his album: Nebraska. (For those of you who want to hear it, i will provide a link to it at the end of this messege)
Overall it is a must see movie. With emotion, humour and a lead character played so beautifully by Rourke you cannot help but love him.

I really wanted to see it. It didn'tget enough hype within pop culture, so that it was a deep, emotional, well written and acted out, thought provoking movie = good.
I was happy to see Sean Penn win the oscar, because milk was an excellent movie, but he wasn't even the best part of the movie. The cinematography was superb and the writing was McTensely awesome; brillaint dialouge. Off topic I know, but if Micky deserved the oscar over Sean (by personal opinion or fact) I need to see The Wrestler. |

I love the movie, I still don;t know why people kept saying that this movie is Mickey Rourke's comeback movie. In case they haven't noticed, he's been in lots of good movies, remember Sin City (the big burly badass guy with Blondie), remember Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man ..*sigh* This movie is awesom, it has love, family, fight, etc.
