I will be going to the 2010 Brighton meetup and if there is another meetup nearer me then I would love to go to that too. I need around 8 weeks advance notice to make it to a meet-up (to arrange time off work, save cash etc). |

to be honest, i doubt i'll be doing one.
as far as 'mini meet's' in brighton is concerned.. i don't think of them as mini meet's... i think of them as 6 or so friends meeting up and going to the pub, with the occasional fellow bmodder who's travelled down for the weekend. i don't even class them as bmod people anymore - they're my friends - so i just think of it that way - and imagine everyone else would do as well. the expense, hassle and amount of problems that went into organising an event last year (booking hotel rooms, sorting out a venue that didn't make you pay a fee, was suitable for people to chat, yet not too formal but not a dive, as well as choosing London as a place to go to because it's a tourist destination and so hotels have deals on and trains are less expensive if booked in advance) was just too much for me to do now. at the end of the day, unless you're super super organised (ie. getting deposits (which people bitch about anyway) and sorting out hotel rooms for people (because otherwise no one can find a cheap place to stay) then people say they'll come and then back out last minute. i will gladly hand it over to anyone who wishes to take on the massive challenge. but keep in mind that any meet in the UK (or anywhere else for that matter) will not be anything at all like Skindependence. *end note* and if it were in brighton, at least some people will have places to stay, as there are a few of us with our own houses, and friends of ours will be allowed to stay with us instead of spending the money on a hotel. |

the people i see in my home town i class as my close friends who i happen to have met on here. i usually see at least one or more of the group once a week (although my ankle situation kinda made me a recluse for a while...) pretty much anyone else is welcome to join us if they say they're gonna be around.

Yeah I don't think that if we just had mini-meets then we'd have such an amazing time doing things like picnics and pubbing. I'm going to miss brighton :(
