i peirced my own septum, like all my other peircings. I used a 14 guage hollow peircing needle and a clamp. i believe it may be too low in my nose. could that be a problem? should i just take it out and get it done professionally? what should i do? and one more thing, i hear that peircings normally crust for a while while healing and sometimes after healing. it's a clear liquid and dries yellow. is that normal? mine does it but i don't think it's puss. i've had it peirced for about 2 months and it doesn't hurt unless you push up on it. please help me. thanks a bunch! :)

well the drainage is dead white blood cells its normal, its as you discribed clear and dries yellowish.. unless your experiencing some swelling and or redness, leakage that is dark in colour or has a bad odor would be signs of infection.. if your not having problems with it i wouldent worried too much.. the only thing i would think being a problem is if it is pierced too low it has a higher chance or migration or even being torn out.. i would suggest maybe letting an experienced piercer take a look at it.. without being able to asses the area it would be hard to know if its not currectly placed or not.. hope this helps..

Also if you plan to stretch lower placement may cause an issue.

If you have no real problems at this point, then the placement should be fine. Crusties are normal, just clean them off after your soak, and make sure the jewelry has no dried crusties on it before pushing it through. My septum had crusties for three months or so.

It wont cause you any problems aside from not looking as aesthetically pleasing but that really is your concern and if you're happy with it all should be good. Though I wouldn't recommend stretching it to too large a size as it may be problematic as it gets larger.
