So, while kicking around ideas for dealing with the forum flame wars, I struck upon the idea for handling things fairly.
Well what I think is fairly, and of course Adam and the other mods, can at any time step in and make adjustments when there might be extenuating circumstances, but this is how it's gonna go down from now on.
Members.... REPORT the posts, we shouldn't be at 13 pages before someone messages a moderator. You all know when a moderators attention is needed in a forum thread, we NEVER have and NEVER will disclose who reported the issue, so FFS report it when shit is melting down!
Now to the participants of the flame wars....
If you participate, I'm giving you at least 12 hours of suspension to cool down.
If you INSTIGATE or get really nasty, you are getting at least 24 hours to think about your future posts.
If you REALLY piss us off you might find yourself with a just undefined, whenever the fuck I think about it, you MIGHT get your shit turned back on, kind of situation.
The moderators WANT to keep things on track, and now you know how we plan on doing it.
Again, if you find yourself in a suspension, and don't agree with a decision, feel free to contact a different moderator with your concerns. A msg will be sent notifiying you of your 'time in the corner'.

Just so everyone knows:
- I'm the one that removed it from the showcase (only because it's messing up the home page) - I am backing up what MontanaPiercer says - Those who have already been suspended were ok'd by me... onto which... I'm literally 1 hour into my vacation (pulling out of the rental car place), when I get a call from MontanaPiercer about stupid shit taking place on the site. That crap doesn't help anyone, doesn't make anyone want to join, and in fact deters people and makes them leave. Fuck that shit. I ain't having it. Either grow up or leave. No one hear needs it, and I don't want to deal with it. I'd rather just close your account and have you tell the world I suck for not letting you ridicule people publicly like third graders. And you wonder why the world has a hard time trusting the modded community to behave respectfully... Not here. .: Adam |

I think it's fair that I post some words in there since I was involved at least in a few recent of those events.
I'm sorry that it did happen to me to feed the trolls. As a pro, having somebody criticizing your work isn't necessarily pleasant. I perfectly understand the necessity to keep the site clean, pro, attractive for newcomers, and any trolling post goes exactly against that.
Actually, I come mostly here to show works, propose free work to people, and as a pro I don't have hours and hours to blah blah my life on the Interwebs, and I will quite easily agree that I can sometimes overreact... but, then, what is exactly overreacting when you see behavior of JClaude yesterday for instance, attacking the baby of Rick?
Adam and Adam, as you know, I reported those posts myself, and I also mailed to you, because it was simply over it. My opinion, at the moment, is that all this happens because of a few members, two or three of them, who are as agressive as stupid.

we all get the notices too and read them ! just cause some of us are not active in the forums doesnt mean we dont look into every issue with post notice. so like tana said dont wait til the 13th page cause its more to sift through.
also dont get report happy nobody likes a tattle-tale if there is no personal attacks and name-calling i most likely wont do dick about the post. you guys are allowed to debate argue (like adults) in the forums. just because someone is debating vigorously a friend of yours dont send an issue notice unless true name calling and over the line stepping has occurred. is there a drop down menu for hourly ban-hammer?
