You must choose professional artist when signing up for your account. If you do not do this step, approving you is more difficult and not automated.

There has been much debate for a long long loooong time about how body mod professionals earn the title of Body Mod Pro on here. At first all you had to do was upload some portfolio images, then it was as simple as just saying you were. Now to combat the many hacks / apprentices that think they know everything, I've put a new system into place.

To become a Body Mod Pro on here, you need to complete the following:

- You need to have a profile photo, click the link below to see how to do this:
How to add a profile photo

- You need to have your account linked to the studio you work at, click the link below to see how to do this:
How to link your profile to your studio

- You need to upload at least 3 portfolio images. Click the link below to see how to do this.
Posting pics of your mods
Posting more than one picture of a mod

Once you have these three things done, you'll see a link on your Messages page (what you see when you first login) that says "Request to be Approved!" When you click on this, you'll be added to a queue that all moderators can view and act on. They'll verify your account and then grant you the title. You will also be awarded a one time bonus of 30 days of supporter status.

Another way you can get the title is if you are vouched for by an existing Body Mod Pro. All they have to do is go to your profile page and click the "I Vouch for this Member" link. You'll instantly get the status. The catch is that if you screw up at all on this site, not only will you have your status removed, but the person that vouched for you will as well.

Until you are an approved or vouched for Body Mod Pro, you will be listed on the site as an Apprentice.

I understand that some people might not think this is fair. But in my opinion, what's worse is someone that's not a Pro giving advice to someone that wrong. It takes only a minute or so do complete the steps, so it's really not that bad. Hopefully this will make things a little better around here in the Body Mod Pro department.

For those that have already linked to your studio, have at least three images up, and have a profile photo, I've already approved your account. All the others have been set to apprentice and need to follow the steps listed above.

Thanks!

.: Adam

good stuff. one question though.

if someone who is a pro is in the middle of changing shops, and thus is not linked to a studio on his/her profile, does this affect their pro status?

Moderators, myself, and other artists can all vouch for an artist and grant them the status. Once you have it, you don't loose it. It has to be manually revoked.
