I'm getting my ankle tattoo tonight, it's $140. How much should I tip? $10, $20? None? Someone help me out here, I didn't tip last time because I worked for the tattooist by advertising and such, we had a deal. Anyway, someone help me out here PLEASE! The quicker the response the better too because I only have 3 hours.

though i only have 4 mods together, ive tipped $5-35 a mod. $5 when i first started out... I figure if i really like the work and plan to get more stuff done by that piercer, i want to try and do my part and help influence them to stay in the piercing industry Edited by DC0-1 |

$10 is a good median tip, then from there depending on how satisfied you think the artist did with there job you add/subract money to that tip

heres a good rule...tipping is accepted not expected so im sure any
additional money would be recipricated wiht grattitude. However I say
20 dollars is a perfect tip.

is tipping just the done thing in america? i've never heard of anyone tipping a piercer or tattooist here in northern ireland?

tipping is a way of showing added apreciation to your piercer/tattoo artist..... it is not expected like said above but is highly appreciated as im sure the other pros around will tell you if you dont own the shop you usually are renting a booth or getting only a percentage of the tattoo that you are doing .that being said i tip artists like i do in restaurants 10 to 2o percent depending on the experience cause as we all know modding has alot to do with the experience .hope this helps .
