You could just use the saline to rinse the inside if you wanted. Otherwise, make sure your mouth rinse is sugar and alcohol free.

I packed the cotton balls with saline on the inside of my cheeks this morning, it has a very strange taste to it; I'm pretty sure it doesn't have either, but I'll double check. Thank you (:

I'm having a small problem; the piercing itself is doing fine but the skin just surrounding it is really dry. I know someone mentioned chamomile earlier, would it help with the dryness around the piercings at all?
I just don't want to put something on it that will help the skin but irritate the piercings themselves.

if your using Salt water soaks...are you using the correct amount of salt? and the correct salt?

too much can cause dryness, redness and tenderness.

as Angelfetus said, the amount of salt you're using is probably too high, the saline solution shouldn't taste more salty than tears, I use that as a measure.

It'll be best to stay away from face creams and the like if you're tempted to use them to moisturise, there's  a chance  they'll irritate the skin and your piercing more.

I bought the sterile saline for the outside, and I alternate between diluted antiseptic mouthwash and sea salt mix for the inside. So I don't think it's the salt?
I thought it might be since they're metal bars rather than ptfe it might be because the way the skin stretches? I imagine it would be easier for the skin to stretch if i had ptfe or something of the sort in rather than metal? If that makes any sense. I'll just try to wait it out, it's not unbearable or anything.

The material shouldn't make that much difference.... Unless it's really cheap stuff, and you are allergic to nickel.

Oh, I thought the ptfe would be more flexible. I don't know, I'm at a loss. Lol. It's starting to get better on its own though (: -knock on wood-
