I recently "lost" my septum plug in the shower, and I had emergency 1/4" OD tubing (I'm 2g) for emergency use, but it started getting irritating, so I bought a 2g Kaos softwear earskin and put it in. Now my teeth hurt.
I have 2 questions.
1. Will it keep my septum piercing open?
and
2. Why would it cause tooth pain? The only time I get this type of pain is after a stretch.
Thank you!

I have an 0g ear skin in mine and it seems to do the job of keeping it open.

I get tooth pain when I stretch as well, but not changing jewellery or anything.

Thank you for the earskin answer, I just wish I could figure out the tooth pain. I've been at 2g for 10 months

Perhaps when it was out it shrunk slightly and the slight restretch pressed on a nerve? Don't quote me on that, I've no idea of anatomy there though.

As far as I'm aware it's quite common for tooth pain to come along with septum stretches, it's possible that the jewelry isn't perfectly round and is pressing down on a nerve, as jrdhannah said.

The roots of your anterior teeth are longer than you'd imagine. They're most likely aching from the pressure placed on them through a new stretch.

I wonder if there's any incidents where teeth have moved due to exceptionally large septum stretches?
Glimmi says: But yeah theres that old saying you can't judge a book by it's cover, cause it could have like 60 piercings in it's cock......Well that's not how the saying actually goes but you get my point.

But I didn't strech, which is why I'm confused...
Either way, I'm seeing my piercer today and I'll cry to him

The tooth pain could be unrelated to mods. It may be worth checking at a dentist if you get chance - teeth are important, best not take chances with them.

I'd agree with that, but I just saw the dentist a week ago

It could just be from irritation or pressure caused from putting in new jewelry. Your septum could be reacting like it was just stretched. Ten months seems like a long time, but you could still get soreness from time to time if it's bumped wrong.
