Hey! I'm Sam I'm new but I was wondering if anyone knows of a piercer or mod artist that does dermal punches in the Milwaukee or chicago area and the legality of doing so? and my septum is at a 6g and I want to go bigger but stretching to 6 it pushed on my cartalige, how can i avoid that? thank you!

Well, even if you had your septum punched, it will still have a period where the cartilage needs to get used to a new size or jewelry, which can cause soreness. It happens.

I had my conches punched in WA at Slave to the Needle. My left one at 8 gauge(stretched to 6), and my right at 6. I was going to repunch my left at 4 or 2 but my piercer Adam said that there wasn't enough room. So I'd talk to your piercer about your plans for your conches.

The jewellery pushing on your cartilage and the sorness you feel as it adjusts is just something you have to deal with if you want to continue stretching. I forget every time just how much it sucks.

Well technically, no piercer should be using the dermal punch. Many piercers don't use them or have no experience with them. You will have to call around and go to shops in your area and talk to piercers. They may even be able to point you in the right direction if no one in your town does it. :) Also, you should just stretch naturally if you've stretched already. The septum is generally an easy piercing to stretch to big sizes. :) edit: I just read back through your posts and let me get this straight, you stretched from 14g to 6g in eight months? You've gotta take an easy on it. Also, there is nothing you can do about the cartilage, as your septum piercing is basically surrounded by it. Punching the area will likely result in the removal of cartilage. Edited by Cale - March/26/2011 at 1:13pm |

found a place thats experienced in punches. Hoping to get a 00g in my inner conch. it should fit i think i have enough area. is $40-$50 a good price for a punch?
Yeah none of my stretches hurt went on the same principle of my ears wait a month if it doesn't hurt to stretch then its ready. I've been at a 6 for 2 months and i wear just an earskin in it but can fit another 6 through it no problem. I was just wondering if stretching was still possible if my last stretch sat against my cartilage
