Hey hey hey ! it's Ant, well today I decided to ask my bmoders something important to me.
1st : This time I decided to get my nostrils punched (since I couldn't do it at skinD last year) The idea is to do them myself (hello world, i'm a pro piercer, ppl who know me know that). The question : really silly question. To all who got their nostril punched, I wanted to ask if is a pain I can take on it ? I mean, (sadly gonna say it, sounds like noob question) does it hurt ? ^^ -yes it probably hurt, but fuck I need your opinion. ;) 2nd question : about my lobes. In almost 5 or 6 years, I've been stretching my lobes, sometimes had hard moments with them, but thats totally normal. Something is not that cool. Story : years ago, I went to live in Cambodia, and had to remove my plugs in few minutes (had nothing else to do, because it was in way to respect my cambodian host). Then the lobe started to get back to a small size (maybe 30mm ^^ yeah, small to me) a part of the lobe went to heal bigger and another part went to heal really thin. So each time I stretch it, the skin become easyly red, or sometimes dark red/purple/black kind of. All is normal at this point. The thing is that last time (months ago) I went to reach my goal of 62mm (wich I already wore in the past), the lobe had a lot of pressure, a lil black vein inside started to pop out from the inner skin, then let the lobe bloody and tearing, launching me with pain. Why does the skin act like that each time I come near the 62 ? (just for precisions : its not the final size, because the lobe always have a lot of rooms) I don't use oil or anything. Well, waiting for answers from you :) |

The thing with punching your own nostril is that, not only will it be painful, you may not get the angles right. I really suggest you just have someone else do that one for you!! There is a vein that comes down your nostril and it's important to try and avoid removing as much of it as you can. I'm sorry I didn't punch your nostrils last year, buddy. I wanted to, but the size you requested was so large, and I didn't want you to have problems or even worse, necrosis. I couldn't live with myself if that happened to you. xx
As for your lobe with the vein, it sounds to me like there is too much pressure. The vein is trying to pump blood, but the pressure is causing it to stop, hence the beginning stages of infection and even necrosis. Redness is normal with stretching, but if you're experiencing dark spots that look black, that is indeed not normal and could be signs of necrosis. A black vein is indeed not a healthy vein and is "dying" every time that amount of pressure is on there, hence why it turns black and your ear begins to give you issues. The flare-ups are a natural response to your ear not having enough blood flow. Perhaps 62mm is pushing it too far with a natural stretch for you, and it happens! Have you considered scalpel procedures? Edited by Cale - July/01/2011 at 4:40pm |

Yeah I was thinking of scalpeling it, like starting to cut from a 48 to 51 cuz its around these sizes that the lobe starts changing color. Too much pressure is the most problem, yeah.
Also, I want to know more about that vein into the nostrils... Like you said I requested too large (wich was 8mm-0g), but I've already seen friends who live around the world and got them punched to 0g or even 00g (8mm - 10mm)... But I truely can understand the fact that you didnt wanted me to have probs with it afterall... Well, thanks for everything ;) |

Isn't punching your nostrils going to give the "look" of having stretched nostrils? LOL
