Just wondering how long it normally takes before any discharge, etc from a piercing. My eyebrow is a day old and theres been nothing, other than cleaning dried blood from yesterday off this morning. Having said that, does everyone even get "crusties" I mean is it a standard healing process for everyone or do some people get by with little/no discharge? thanks

Cleaning regularly will minimize how much build up you see. Everyone lymphs while healing, some not as much as others, but it is there. Increased discharge can be caused by sensitivities to the metal or to certain cleaning products.  I would personally be happy if there were little discharge, because it means things are going well, however, you are only one day in and wont know for a few days how things are gonna go. If there is NOTHING draining from the wound, then many times it is building up in the wound track. Sea salt flushes will get this stuff out, but not much else will. If the discharge doesn't come out, it can and will form an abscess. You see this in situations where the jewelry fits too tightly, and the piercing can't drain. As long as the jewelry is a bit long and you are doing your soaks, this usually isn't an issue. Give it a couple of days to settle in, and if you don't see a lot of discharge, just be happy.
