Hey everyone. I've been stretching for about 5 months and I'm at 12mm, I have a thin spot, not very thin, but a bit thin and I'd like to thicken it up. However I don't have access too Jojoba or Emu oil. So I was looking at a few other products and was wondering if they would work:
The first one is not an oil at all, it's a cream containing: "Highly concentrated shea-butter, canola oil, jojoba oil, bees wax and vitamin E. It dosn't contain any conservatives nor any mineral oils, and it's 85% fat, without perfume. The second is an oil marketed towards pregnant bellies and it contains canola and sunflower oil and vitamin E. Dosn't contain any perfume, colouring nor conservatives. The third oil is a vegetable-based baby oil and it's rich in vitamin E and dosn't contain any colouring nor conservatives. These are at my local pharmacy, and that's the only description given on them. ' Without plug: With plug: Edited by Zambaku - July/25/2011 at 2:55am |

The specific type of oil means very little (being its mild and not abrasive to the open wound that is your stretched lobes) but the act of massaging is really the most beneficial part. The thin portion is closest to your face, which little can most likely be done to 'fix' the problem (some might suggest scalpeling for redirection; I've seen them go both ways so I err on the side of caution). You may be able to go slightly larger, but your body is going to tell you when it's time to stop, if you listen. Basic vitamin e oil should be just fine for massages too.

I would also suggest a little bit of relocation via scalpel. You're stretching your ears with skin from your face!

I would also slow down, 5 months to get to 1/2''(12.5mm) assuming you were at a standard size is not enough. We have a stretching f.a.q. topic on here, have a look at it as it has lots of useful information.
edit: and wear nice quality jewellery (glass, titanium or stainless steel for freshly stretched lobes). I don't understand the material you have in your lobe in the picture but it doesn't seem so nice, to me. Edited by grundstuck - July/25/2011 at 4:01am |

I just posted in the stretching faq about emu oil. Read through that.
