If you just got an apprenticeship, they will teach you everything you need to know about set-up and what inks to use. :) Right now, focus on your in-shop duties and educating yourself about disease and cross contamination.

yes i am apprenticing in both although i intend on doing a course on dermals.

i have a bit of ecperience in piercing already ju not so much the more technical ones (i.e facial and nipples/navels) but really cantwait to get started...

thanks for all the kind words and guidance.. this has always been somewhat of a dream of mine and i am so greatful to have been given this opportunity.. i cant wait to learn as much as i possibly can from the great artists i will have around me :)

Why both? The only reason I ask, is because doing both never really works out. One of the two always becomes less important than the other. For instance : your in the middle of a tattoo and a piercing comes in and can't wait and wants it right then. What do you do? Piss off your tattoo client to stop for a piercing? or lose a piercing customer? Neither is ideal and both make you look bad to one or the other persons involved.

My point is, eventually one of the two will become more important to you and that is where you should focus your energy. Besides that, dual threats are mostly looked down upon in either industry. Not trying to discourage you by any means, just sayin.
