So, I've been working on my backpiece for a good few years now.

Its been done by a couple of different artists for various different reasons (mainly ex's being a pain in the arse) and now I've got one artist who has been working on it for the last few sessions and we're now getting to the point where it needs tying together, and the final bits putting in place.

I have a few ideas on how to do this but I was wondering if anyone would be able to suggest anything else that I might not be thinking of.

I think its simply space fillers that I need now as opposed to any more focal elements.

As I have water to the top left and nothing much to the right I thought about carrying the water diagonally down from top left to bottom right and then having wind bars through the top right (covering the grey shaded leaves), going down to the bottom left and having the two (water/wind) merge somehow near the bottom near my octopus. I also though to have some orange/green leaves floating through this too.

Now this is just an idea I've had but anything people may suggest would be great.

I'm thinking of ending it just on the top on my bum, but shaping it to each cheek (if that makes sense!)

Photos on my profile but I shall try upload some to the thread later on.

Thanks everyone :)

I like the space around the octopus,  it's a great piece!

You could cover the grey leaves with mountains, they're kind of shaped like that anyway.
I think the octopus would look great with a background, probably not dark water like you have behind the lotus, maybe a lighter blue with a bit of shading to tie it in with the waves above. Like your octopus is sitting underneath the waves.
Windbars would look cool behind your cherry blossoms but if they're dark then your going to have a lot of solid/dark colour at the top of your back and I think it might pull focus from your octopus and make him look like he's just floating.
Would be cool to have his tentacles over a chest of treasure and maybe some seaweed on the other side, reaching up.
The Octopus and the lotus tattoo are both very dynamic, I think you need something just as striking on your right to make them 'match up', and something that ties the octopus into the waves on your left.

I've got problems of my own, but not the kind that can be solved with an atom bomb.
