I got my tongue pierced yesterday, and my piercer gives us aftercare sheets, * Since never having my tongue done before I took one*. Well, I've had people tell me to avoid Milk products, * I mean even a little bit of butter...*

But I've looked online, and it's like every other thing I look at says no to have milk! But the rest recommend to eat ice cream the first week!
I'm stumped! I'm usually a heavy milk eater/drinker :(

Help!?

Also;
My Piercer's sheet, doesn't say anything about milk, just Hot food, Spicy stuff, Acidic, and salty :(

And I'm a hypoglycemic, so sometimes I need to have candy or a chocolate bar, Will that or a sucker hurt my tongue piercing ??

You may get mixed results on this. I have seen this debated from multiple directions. From what I know (and I don't know all) milk is not an issue.

The first time i got my tongue pierced the piercer told me to avoid milk products.... yea that didn't last long. For my next two after that I ate whatever I wanted. Same goes when I got my tongue split... If something hurt to eat, I stopped eating it. I would also eat very slowly. Overly spicy and salty wouldn't be a good idea though.

Thank you guys, Honestly It's such a huge struggle not to eat anything with dairy, I mean, Kraft Dinner ( Mac and Cheese of the canadian world ) Is my life, especially when I can't eat properly :P

But Thanks, I'll have the dairy, but be careful with it, and wash my piercing a lil longer after :)

Stay away from spicy and sugary foods, and mouthrinses with sugar and alcohol. It's a common misconception that milk will cause oral thrush.

Whatever you eat, it's a good idea to rinse out your moth afterwards during initial healing. For some reason I ate a lot of imitation crab...hella random, but it was filling and soft enough to eat. Haha. Soup and pudding and such as always good.

Stay away from caramel! Eg: milkduds, sugar daddy's, etc. :)
I am pierced, therefore I am.

So, it's been a while since i posted in here :P
And I totally didn't listen about the milk.
I have been drinking boxes and boxes of chocolate milk,
And nothing bad has happened :)
So i'm pretty sure i'm in the clear :)
Although, i am going to order a new tongue bar from painful pleasures, so that i have an internally threaded bar in,
So far i have only changed the balls to blackout balls i had,
*I'm thinking the skin is still probably pretty fresh, so i don't want to ruin it with changing the bar out just yet,
