Over the last few years my grandparents have asked me when I see them, when I'm going to get my ear lobes sewn up.
Now up until recently I have never even considered the idea, unless my lobes were having a funny moment and being a bit irritated, thus irritating me. i have been doing some research into it, so i can let them know about it as they are curious as to how it is done etc. I have come across some information and I have spoke to a couple of professionals and been into a studio to have my lobes looked at to be able to give me more accurate/personalised info/advice. My lobes are healthy, healed at 30mm, no scarring, no blow outs etc. I just wanted some more information, maybe from people who have had it done, success stories and some that have perhaps not gone quite as well as hoped. I have been told by one studio that it is advisable to downsize as much as possible for about three months before having the procedure done, now this makes some kind of sense to me, but has anyone else been told this, or told something different? I'd like as much info from you guys as possible please :) I've not yet decided what I'm doing, but I'd like enough information to make the decision when/if the time comes. Thanks :)

I just saw your profile pic for the first time and thought your ears looked wonderful. Then read this.
I guess if you have to do what is in your heart for those you love over what you want then go for it. Good luck if you go through with this. Edited by sh4ky - March/11/2013 at 6:34am |

My friend Ian had that procedure done & his ears were about 51mm. They told him to take his out & shrink down his ears as much as possible. It is a cosmetic medical procedure so it won't be covered on an insurance plan (from what I've heard) but the procedure is well worth it. He was able to stretch his ears back to a 0g at the most & be comfortable. Hope this helps!

I'm not doing it for someone else over myself.
I will only ever do it if it is what I want to do. As things stand it doesn't make any difference to me wether I have them stretched or not, so if me having them taken out makes someone happy then I have no problem with doing it. So far I have found a cosmetic surgeon that will do the procedue and two body modification artists. We don't have insurance plans over here anyway so it would be something I could have to cover myself.
