It's definitly a tough one.
I supervise at Claires where I pierce ALOT of people's ears with a gun- please don't give me any hate, it's part of my job and I have to do it. The earrings we use are needle sharp, sterilised and we work alongside studex. I KNOW piercing with a gun has no talent involved what so ever and is not favoured as it crushes the tissue and can be quite distressing, but again- not my choice. One of the the things that ear piercing has taught me is how to prepare someone for a piercing and no matter how good you are- trying to console a baby is not fun and I really don't enjoy piercing babies ears as I think they should have the right to choose what happens to their body. A lot of parents have a really unhealthy view that piercing a babies ears is a right of passage and that it HAS to be done, and a lot of the time as the child grows, the piercings become uneven due to growth and development. |

Is it the same "gun" for every piercing, just different needles? Is the gun cleaned at all?
