i understand most people now-a-days are getting their conches punched but my girlfriend is very VERY VERY strict about my piercings and maybe obsessively controling about it... (tattoos too but thats off subject) i want my conches done so bad but she doesnt like punches and whatnot, she would possibly let me get it done with a needle to 8 or 6ga. and i was just wondering, if i wanted to stretch it would it make my ear look all deformed or differently that it should being punched. would the placement have to be different so it could acommidate for the final size of the plugs? i want to eventually be somewhere between 0ga. and 1/2".

thanks for any help you have to offer.

first off, i'd drop the girl, but that is your call. relationships never last when there's that much control, nor are they really even that worth it. punching is the way to go. stretching is difficult, painful, and picky. i've done both punch work and stretching work, and punching has been by far the easier choice. mine were done at 0g(8.3mm), but i have stretched up to 000g(10.4mm). my 4g(5.2mm) helix piercing however was stretched from 16g(1.2mm). it doesn't like it very much. it is very picky about what jewellery i use at certain sizes, what materials i choose at certain sizes and when it wants to heal. the skin condition id still good thankfully, but you can still tell that it has been stretched because it does look as if the skin has slightly been pushed "away" from the hole. the punches, after some complications, have healed beautifully. they heal quickly and look better. mine bled for a week after they were done (not a lot, but still bled), and plasma leakage occurred for a while too. you can heal without jewellery though, and i heard that works great. placement matters a bit, yes. you'll want to center whatever method you choose for the best stretching possibilities.

i'd say ignore the girl and punch. either way, stretching or punching to the desired size will result in the exact same thing, though punching usually works a lot nicer and heals a lot better than stretching.
i think i figured out the ultimate reason why i modify: i just like touching myself.

statistics are pretty clear here, that you wont be with this girl long anyway, given your age and such (before you say anything to the contrary, when was the last time you met a divorcee who's ex wasn't at some point their 'soul mate') and the fact that she already has shown signs of living a path different than yours

so do what you want, your body will always be yours, your girlfriend most probably will not

Who are you getting the piercing for, you or her? If she doesn't like how you want to adorn your body and is controlling to the point where "she would possibly let me get it done", perhaps it's time to reasses what you want with your life. And then go get big holes punched in your ears and let the shit hit the fan if need be.

It's amazing how many times the same questions are asked and no one ever seems to search the forums to see if someone had previously asked their question.... And I agree with skipper completely, I had a fiance like that and she was against me getting tattoo's and all the other mods I really wanted... needless to say we didn't last all that long, couple years... but it's up to you so good luck....

RUN! Then do what you want with your body. You're the one that has to live with the artwork. Twenty years from now, you'll regret not doing stuff when you were young. Trust me

placenta is right, a while back I had a bad deal going on with my wife about my pa ring which she says grosses her out to the point where merely seeing it turns her off so I dont wear it anymore. The hole is still there though. I wish I could have both
