I'm super pale and refuse to get a proper tan for various reasons, but looking to 'fake' it......I know it seems bit vain, but my skin is so pale you can see my veins through it..not a nice look. Now, I have a fair few tattoos, and was wondering if prolonged use of fake tan would affect the colour of them. I think fake tan only coats the top layer of skin, but I'm just paranoid of anything that might make my tattoos less bright.
Anyone have any thoughts on this or am I just being paranoid/silly?

whiter is brighter...
the darker the skin regardless of how it got that way, will make tattoos appear duller skin is like glass, if you tint it, it darkens anything seen through it |

But I mean, once the fake tan fades, would the tattoo be permanently duller or would it go back to the way it was before?

No, unless the skin suffered damage from say a sun burn. Once the skin lightens the normal appearance will reappear.
