Ever wonder why so many people are getting tattoos and piercings these day? You are invited to participate in a Research Study about body modification! We are investigating attitudes and emotions that relate to the body and stress.

You must be from 18-23 years of age.

Participation in the study will take less than 30 minutes and the data will be collected using a web-based survey. Participation is voluntary, and you may opt out of the study at any time by exiting the survey.

You will have the option of entering into a drawing for one of three amazon.com gift certificates worth $50.00. Please copy the following URL into your web browser or follow the link:

Sorry but i refuse to do another survey. get up off your arse and go and survey people in the street. I for one am sick of these surveys because the results are never shown to US people who do all the work for these people.

I dont know you npaikin but you've joined today and that means you haven't contributed to the site so you're looking for something from us but giving nothing in return!

Why is it assumed that only young people have mods? I know alot of people that don't get done until later in life.

Yeah, I agree with the age limit thing. It's not going to be a representative sample at all.
Also, it doesn't cover the whole range of body modifications at all. Tattoos and piercings are becoming more popular because of fashion and being more acceptable in mainstream society (that's pretty much your entire thesis there). People I know who are heavily tattooed are horrified when I say I want scarification, bifurcation and implant work done, so just asking about tattoos and piercings is not getting an accurate representation of modifications as a whole.

+1 and totally agree. There is work I have wanted for decades, but have not found or been able to get with the artist I want for that piece. There are artists that I have pieces I want done by them, and until I can get to their neck of the woods, or they come to a convention in my state I will wait. I have a brilliant artist, but he has his specialties, I have even taken a piece to him and he suggested another artist that he said specializes in that style and thought would do a better job at it. Now that is a good artist and a good friend.
